Next Meeting:

April 1st
Mike Shafer, CFO of Zionsville Community Schools
Property taxes are the hot topic for 2008. Our schools are by far the largest factor in determining your property tax bill. In order to help make sense of what goes into your property taxes and the impact of our schools upon it, the VRA is presenting Mike Shafer, Chief Financial Officer of the Zionsville Community Schools as the speaker at our April 1st meeting.

For more information about Mr Shafer, click here then scroll down just a bit to find his profile.

Other Confirmed Meeting Dates:

June 3rd
Details To Be Announced
Stay tuned for details.

August 5th
State Senator Jeff Drozda
Solving the property tax problem has to start at the state level, but what will the legislature do? Will property taxes be capped? If they are, will we see sales taxes, income taxes or local option taxes increased? Will schools have to submit building proposals to local referendums? On August 5th, the VRA will present State Senator Jeff Drozda to speak on what our legislator can (and by then has done) to address the property tax issue at the state level.

For more information about Senator Drozda, please visit www.in.gov/s21.

October 7th
Town Council Members Art Harris and Matt Price
Art and Matt will speak about issues facing Zionsville and their priorities. A Q&A session will follow their presentation.

The annual VRA elections will also be held on this evening.
