The Winter Wonderland of the Village

The days have grown short and the nights long.... We waken to frost and thoughts of snow and ice and holidays - and all of the wonderful events to enjoy in our charming little town during this breath-taking season! Winter in the Village is a magical time. From the decorated Christmas tree gracing Main and Oak Streets to the chimes of the Village clock ringing through the frosty air, Zionsville offers a picture perfect snow globe of a winter wonderland to its residents and visitors.

Forget the malls and the traffic and the crowds. Take some time to explore the Village shops. Check out the dazzling window displays and the unique gift giving ideas offered by the wide variety of specialty and antique shops in town. It’s a sure bet you’ll find it a much more rewarding and relaxing experience. And be sure to top off that day of shopping and strolling with lunch or dinner, a steaming mug of hot chocolate or even a spirit or two at one of many of Zionsville’s unique restaurants!

Don’t miss these "wondrous" events:

Christmas in the Village
Enjoy "A Storybook Christmas"
Carolers, reindeers, elves and Santa (and the Mrs.) himself....
Saturday and Sunday, December 1st and 2nd.
Always a Village favorite for young and old alike, this is an event not to be missed. Visit Santa, pet a reindeer and discuss the merits of carrots versus milk and cookies with the elves themselves. Meet Frosty the Snowman and the Christmas Mouse - listen to the mellow tunes of Tom Wright and enjoy a f ree carriage or train ride! Shops will be open late and offering lots of "special treats"! Don’t forget to sign up at participating merchants for the "Z’12 Gifts of Christmas Holiday Sweepstakes"!
Call the Zionsville Chamber of Commerce for more information at (317) 873.3836 or visit www.zionsvillechamber.org.

SullivanMunce Cultural Center
Both the art center and the museum will be decked out in all their holiday splendor for this annual Zionsville tradition. Visitors can shop for a wide variety of stocking stuffers at the art center, where pieces of small art and jewelry vie for attention with other handcrafted original artwork - in a variety of styles and mediums - featured in their holiday boutique. Open throughout the holiday season.
From 11 AM-2 PM, December 1st and 2nd visitors can also buy a handcrafted ceramic bowl (for just $8) - that we’ll fill with hot, homemade chili - before continuing on to the museum.
Children and adults alike will enjoy a visit to Emma and Addison’s World, to learn about how the children of Zionsville lived in the 1800’s, while visitors of all ages are invited to view the Gingerbread Houses on Parade and to purchase sweet treats and baked goods from the museum guild. Open throughout the holiday season.
